Munk

The second remix package from Munk’s single “Live Fast Die Old”. This time you get remixes from Ed Bangers All Stars, Whomadewho and The Amazing Clay. I like the version from the baile-funk legend The Amazing Clay best so that’s the one we are giving out. Travis from Big Stereo got another track from the […]

Roshambo

Roshambo are basically just dudes. 4 dudes in fact. Sleater Brockman, Spruce Lee, Moriarty and Jimmy Sing make up the collective. Have you ever seen the ad on tv I think it is selling tinned fruit or something? Anyway the famous Australian kayakers the awesome foursome are in the ad humming a tune. I’ve just […]

Munk + Ed Banger All Stars

I almost skipped past this remix — for similar reasons expressed recently by Nik at BiBaBiDi — but I gave it a second and was actually kinda pleasantly surprised. Ed Bangers All Stars (Busy P and DSL) deliver something a bit different than the formulaic bangers we’ve grown immune to… Ok, so maybe not something […]

High as the Skyy

Two incredibly slick tracks to ease hump day into hump night (God I’m hilarious)
I know, I know…I’ve been posting a lot of disco lately and I promise this will be the last post of this kind for a while.

Skyy - “High”

Supermax - “World Of Today”

I’ve been searching for this Supermax track for a while! I first heard it on Inflagranti’s “A Decade Of Hero Worship”, A cut up/fucked up disco/rock excursion they put out a while ago. So glad to have found the original.

P.S. If you’ve been enjoying the disco posts check out our disco/italo night tonight @ LA CITA HERE!

NEW THE DEATH SET VIDEO FOR ‘AROUND THE WORLD’ BY DEMONBABIES!!

Shilo Presents: Sinden

The third installment in the Shilo Presents series just hit the internet.
It was always going to be hard to compete with the 2 previous DJ mixes in the series (large up Pretty Titty, Chris Devlin) but i managed to surpass them (haha jokes!). Nah serious that’s too bold a claim, but I am happy […]

South Central

South Central are back with a remix for the new Sneaky Sound System single “Pictures.” This is less of a banger than some of South Central’s previous work and feels like a tease with the original song — stretched out and distorted at all the right moments:

Better late then never…

We love Pase Rock here at Discobelle so when he dropped a new track produced by Eli Escobar we should have been all over it and shared it with you guys but I guess we are slacking a bit, summer is coming up and there are other things to do.
Pase Rock - “Get Money […]

Black Kids + SQZMYLMNS

Ok, I have to be honest and say I wasn’t super crazy about the SQZMYLMNS remix that Melissa posted the other week. It was alright, but didn’t really add to original for me. That said, SQZMYLMNS’ new Black Kids remix totally does it for me… adding some much needed craziness to the original. SQZMYLMNS brings […]

Peep this

We posted the hospital remix of Peep This by the recovering guys in Steed Lord a week ago but we never posted the original track by DJ Sam Young. Play it again Sam!

Wolf & Cub

You’d have to dig deep into the vaults of BIGSTEREO to find our first post on Wolf & Cub, oh those were the days. Fast forward a few years to now, and Wolf & Cub are planning their sophomore release produced by none of there than Christopher Colonna of Bumblebeez fame. Ah, we love it […]

Little Pictures & Sweet Tarts Rope

This is Little Pictures. I’ll brave being wrong here and say that I think this song is going to be huge. Like, “Young Folks” huge. It’s simple, fun and makes you feel good…and basically, in a world full of adult a.d.d. production and busyness, that’s about all you need.

The band was gracious to send me A clean mp3 for posting so I am passing it on to you to make your summer brighter.

—————-

Readers….I’ve never reviewed candy before but here goes.

I had these with a Slurpee the other night and my mind was blown. It’s like A red rope tube, with melted Sweet Tarts and Nerds inside of it. Sour and Sweet. An Epic candy creation.

I take back what I said about Little Pictures above….THESE are going to be huge. Like, “Young Folks” huge.

(Imagine a html link that links the candy directly into your mouth here)

Black Ghosts

Another Monday, another Black Ghosts video — this week it’s “Something New” in a silent-esque film direct by Chiara!!
Story behind the video: “Two characters from the turn of the century, a doctor/scientist and a clown/magician, walk through one day in their lives in search for something new to break the monotony of repetition. […]

MARGEHERITA

It’s hot as hell in LA and this track is heat. Last Saturday I played it out at TS1 in Hollywood and a ton of people asked me what it was so here I am with an explanation.
I first heard Margueritas’ “Margeherita” looped as the background on the A Touch of Class Records website waaaay back in the day and became sort of obsessed. A little while later Morgan Geist RE-Released it on his label Environ’s “Unclassics” series and I flipped. Get it.

Flying Lotus- Los Angeles

Warp Records knew what they were doing when they signed Flying Lotus. His latest album, ‘Los Angeles’, (like other Warp-released albums as Boards of Canada’s ‘Music Has The Right To Children’ and Squarepushers’ ‘Music Is Rotted One Note’) is absolutely amazing.
Clocking in at almost 45 minutes, it’s a mind-numbing experimental-electronic beat excursion […]

The Phonograph

The third instalment of my Italian fetish gives you The Phonograph a seriously catchy tune called “The Absence” in which they sampled a fellow Italian, David Genco. Listen to the original and you will see what a great job these guys did.
