Teki Latex (ft. The Genevan Heathen) - Go Go Go (Audioporno RMX)

Audioporno just made a remix of the Teki Latex track “Go Go Go”. Mel from Audioporno just sent over their remix with a note that he wanted us to post.
“Sometimes there is no way to make a song harder, better, faster or stronger by remixing it. You could only fail by trying then. In such […]

Bitchee Bitchee Ya Ya Ya

Bitchee Bitchee and Ya Ya Ya have been busy working on their debut album, and they were kind enough to drop us a little teaser from it. “Love Beauty #1″ isn’t as distortion heavy as “Fuck Friend” — it’s more like its distant surf influenced cousin. I imagine a big dance number to this one […]

Fake Shark Real Zombie!: ‘Designer Drugs (Designer Drugs Remix)’ / Remixes of FLOU, Hail Social, Protokoll, Midnight Juggernauts & New Machine Addict

N.Y.’s Designer Drugs are the dopest (pun intended). Designer Drugs have been steady racking up a discog of club bangin’ remixes and for their efforts have earned hella blog and mixtape love (the evidence). The two live crew dropped off this brand new remix of Vancouver BC’s Fake Shark Real Zombie!—an indie-hardcore-dance-rock band who’s 2007 […]

DJ Wool

DJ Wool, one half of the Glass, is a busy man. He got a 12″ called “Gangsters & Models” coming out on Pale Music with remixes from DJ Krames and The Scandals. He has also been in the studio for 3 months mixing Tittsworth’s debut album. On top of that he is packing up all […]

The Legend of UDACHI: The Iliad of Raves

UDACHI is a monster of a man! Though regular size, he’s descended from a long line of fantasy beasts that have plagued mankind since the dawn of dawn! I was eating baked beans with a hobo who went by the name of Lucky Ralph, and he told me his Udachi story. “Yes Sir! I knew the beast! One time I was riding in the same freight car as The Titan Udachi, yep crossing the east side of South Dakota we were and the fiend was sleeping for the first time in a thousand years! His snores came with such ferocity that the demons in the black storm clouds above hid with every breath! Then suddenly the train jerked to a halt and the mighty Udachi awoke in such a rage that he ate the entire train from the engine to the caboose in two, or maybe it was three bites. Luckly for old Lucky Ralph, I jumped out just in the nick of time…only lost my hat and my dog!” - Then Lucky Ralph choked on the baked beans and died!

Most Udachi stories have been passed down generation to generation until the elders wrote each tale down down as individual scrolls. The collection of an estimated sixteen hundred scrolls make up, “The Legend of Udachi”. The records are kept in the deepest of mines, guarded and studied by the Council of Forever’s Twin Wizards of Tomorrow. The brothers have determined through the scrolls common themes that Udachi is fond of back rubs, does not like sunlight, loves fresh fruit, will not eat sweets, and has killed for everybody’s freedom to feel good…

The norse goddess of fate, Verdandi, came to me in the form of Lismore’s Penelope. She asked if I wanted to hear the most recent sounds the hungry beast Udachi was making…It was a remix of Lismore’s Paradis (Comix,12/6). I asked the goddess if she could request me an audience with the monster Udachi.

Then he spoke to me…:
“I am originally form ukraine, living in staten island, i’ve been playing raves for close to 8 years (sad), i love dance music in all forms, mainly cheese. I did a Panacea remix a few years back, i love piano rave music and big beat! I will be coming out with a new mix soon and it will be fun! When i’m not working, or working on music i hang out with AC and listen to dubstep and make up new dance moves for it.”

UDACHI is a bad ass motherfucker and I have a new remix he did for LISMORE as well as one he did for AC SLATER and his Rave Hangover mix that he recorded under the name DJ BRAK.

Lismore - Paradis (Udachi Remix)

AC Slater - Party Like Us (Udachi Remix)

Sidechains

House is coming back…or did it ever readlly leave? I'm so glad that Sidechains is getting so much blog attention….its well-deserved. He's been creating a lot of musical buzz (prob due to the fact that people are dying for something other than distortion and fidget) and pulling bits and bobs from old house, filter house, disco, etc. Yes, please give me some tracks that can snuggle up next to Black Box or Fingers Inc.. 'In the beginning there was jack……' and now there's Sidechains.

RORY PHILLIPS [HUNTING]

Remember in Good Will Hunting when Professor Lambeau said that only a hand-full of people in the world would know the difference between him and Will? Well the biggest record collector you know is the Lambeau to Rory Phillip’s Will Hunting.

It’s this love of music that allowed him to set the mood with legendary opening sets at Trash. To bring a disco sound totally unheard in London at And Did We Mention Our Disco. He’s dug his way crate by crate to be the key resident at Trash’s successor Durrr.

Over the past year, Rory’s been creating some pretty steller remixes, so when he asked if I’d be interested in posting his hypnotic disco dub of Primary 1’s Hold Me Down…I was like, Rory Phillips, YES!

Primary 1 - Hold Me Down (Rory Phillips Disco Dub)

“My boy’s wicked smart!”

Purple Crush

Purple Crush - “Shopping on the Dance Floor” (YouTube)
“Shopping” was heard on Purple Crush’s “Welcome 2 Emo-Club” ep last year… well now the track has gotten the video and remix treatment from AC Slater, Mike Genius, Krames and Shir Khan. Rad. This song is so easy to like… such a sing a long and easy […]

Cryptonites Remix Contest

Keeping in step with the rapidly changing structure of the music industry and the blog trend of bands asking their friends/family/fans to remix an upcoming single,Cryptonites have decided to do the same. I mean, if even Radiohead does it……

here are the STEMS of 'Can't Give You Up' so all you bedroom producers can have a shot at a proper remix. Tweak 'em, distort 'em, smooth 'em out, reverb 'em….but let's hear something new and innovative.

They can't release it officialy as they are using an uncleared sample from a tiny man in purple who goes by a symbol in the original version, but they will choose the best 5 remixes and will send them to all the famous blogs out there. Please send your remix to cryptonites@hotmail.com till June 2 2008! Get the Cryptonites to do YOUR press release!

And here's a few bonus remixes done of the songs so far…

Golden Bug

Golden Bug has been posted on BIGSTEREO quite a few times now, but “Rocket City” is such a fun track that I can’t resist once more. The song offers up a wonderful dose of hidden disco — mixed with some layered synths and bits of French distortion that’ll get everyone moving across the floor. I […]

Lismore

Lismore is heading off for a West Coast tour and in celebration have dropped a new track — “More”!! Keeping in Lismore tradition the song is pure pop drenched in synth that’ll have you shaking and dancing. “More” puts Lismore at the top of their game… and uh, leaves up wanting more. Luckily there […]

WAR GAMES: shock and awesome

WAR GAMES is the new project of Angel Alanis and Trash Menagerie’s, Local Hero. The Chicago duo got their name from the 1983 Matthew Broderick movie. Matthew Broderick is also the same actor who stared in a John Hughes film about a high school senior from the Northern Suburbs who skips school and acts out a bunch of shenanigans in Chicago…I think the film is a classic and I applaud Hero and Alanis for the way they linked back to their home town and for the power a shock and awesome name like “WAR GAMES” demands!

Dizzee Rascal - “Sirens (War Games Rmx)”
HEARTSREVOLUTION - “C.Y.O.A. (War Games Rmx)”

Shark Attack

Michael aka Flufftronix sent us these two new remixes. Besides being a hard working dj he runs a small booking/promotion company called Rad Summer that he wants to turn into a record label. Promote his work by heading over to his myspace and buy the “Bigger Than Hip-hop” Edit in dj-style higher bitq!
